Stroll to the Zoo

I love our new location. At first I thought I would really miss our old neighborhood because of it's character, and I do, but I love that we are in walking distance to some great parks and the Zoo. To put a cherry on top, the zoo is free! Which is right in our price range. It's a good zoo too, Tate loved the animals. He liked watching the seals swim and tried to jump in with them. He also was awe struck by the gorillas and the monkeys (since a monkey sound is one of the animals he knows) he probably felt some fond connection.







I don't want this summer/fall to end. It's gorgeous here right now and I love all the green and the humid air. The parks are so wooded and thick. Donny won't let me walk alone. He's probably right though I for sure would get lost! The birds are starting to fly south and I wish I could follow......(sigh) winter is coming too quickly.

Home sweet home.

I'm in LOVE with our new home. I love that the decor in a space can make it your own. When I first saw our apartment without anything in it, I thought it looked kinda dumpy. After we got all our stuff in and we went to town decorating.....it finally is feeling like home. It's not quite done yet, but I know there are some out there that want to see it. I just keep coming up with new ideas, so I guess it will always be a work in progress! I hope you all like it.

Our State Fair is the Best State Fair

We went to the Minnesota state fair yesterday and it was so fun! I have two blisters and sick tummy today to prove it. Tate did great, he was such a trooper! We can't wait till next year!

Let's be honest, we all know Donny and I were most interested in going to the fair for the food. Let's also just say it didn't disappoint! Here is a list of everything we ate at the fair, please don't judge us, it was a splurge for sure!

• Fresh Lemonade (Donny said it tasted like Lagoon)
• Grilled Corn on the Cob
• Fried Oreos (Best thing we ate!)
• Fried Alligator with Hush puppies
• Crab Cakes
• Homemade Root beer

• Sweet Corn Ice-Cream with Caramelized Cayenne Peanuts
• Fried Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream
• Fried Reese’s (They were nothing compared to the Oreos)
• More Fresh Lemonade (This time it didn’t taste like Lagoon)

Glimpse at Heaven

I am in awe at how a little person, barely 20 pounds can make such an impact on my life. His little smile and laugh can make my whole day. Our little Tate is such a blessing in our lives. I truly feel like babies are a little glimpse at Heaven. Come on and try not to crack a smile when you look at pictures of this guy!

A few gems from Tate's birthday

I know I already blogged about Tate's first birthday, but my dad emailed me the pictures that he took of Tate eating his cake and I just had to share them. They are so cute. He could not have preformed better for the camera! I thought I did a pretty good job with the cake as well....

He's learning!

Tate is learning so fast. As you can tell he still has a few things confused, Like his head and belly, but he gets it right some of the time. He sure is cute though. He makes us laugh all day long!

Carousel ride anyone?

I can't remember the last time I went on a carousel before this summer; but since this summer we've been several times. We started our carousel summer in Helena when Aaron and Kens and Maycie came up to visit. Maycie loved it, Tate thought it was alright. He was just getting the feel for it then I think.

Then when we were in Utah he really got the feel for it. We went to the Trafalga in Lehi and he was pushing people out of the way to get back on. I think he went 6 or 7 times that day.

Now we're back in Minnesota and it just so happens we have a carousel right down the street from us. They have one free day every month, which happened to be last Monday. So we went with our friends Ashlynn and Madison. He loved it yet again, and I'm sure we'll be going back in September!
